CryptoLITE
The entry level Cryptoguard system is called CryptoLITE. There are no servers and no customer management.
As an operator you use a head-end with an embedded Cryptoguard encryption system. The TV programs to be scrambled are selected and other programs are left in clear. Customers who wish to see encrypted TV channels purchase a Smartcard with a pre-paid subscription of 12 months.
As soon as the customer inserts the Smartcard into a set-top box or a CA module, the card is operative.
CryptoQAM
The full featured version is called CryptoQAM. In addition to secure encryption it also provides additional ways for customers to order and pay for subscriptions, a customer database and a user friendly administration interface.
An SMS service (Service Management System) updates or cancels existing cards. You can easily see the status of all existing customers’ subscriptions in the customer database.
CryptoMULTI
With CryptoMULTI we bring unprecedented freedom of choice to the TV-viewers by allowing several service operators within one network.
Cable TV networks has traditionally been limited to only one operator leaving the TV-viewer with limited options. Cryptoguard is a encryption system that is not associated to any single cable TV operator. Several TV suppliers, or service operators, can compete for customers in the same network. The customer can pick and choose from all services available in the whole system.
